Zebra

Charlie Harvey was born in Central Africa in 1955. He grew up at Shiwa Ng’andu with his legendary grandfather Stewart Gore-Browne. In this remote corner of Northern Zambia, Charlie who speaks four Zambian languages fluently, walked, hunted and fished his way through most of this childhood. At the tender age of 9 he had already taken his first buffalo and then at 14 his first elephant.

Whether hunting in the wild GMA’s or on these wonderful game ranches, wildlife conservation has always been of the utmost importance to Charlie. His enthusiasm for a good long walk and stalk, sometimes for hours on hands and knees through grasslands, woodlands or forests is legendary.

Supporting Charlie at Shiwa is Steven Rufus an ex Zimbabwean, he has spent over 20 years guiding clients in Botswana, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia using all methods of transport, including walking, canoes, bicycles, horses and the more traditional vehicles.
His passion for Africa is enthusiastically transmitted to all his clients with passion and a genuine love of its flora and fauna. For him the whole experience of hunting is about the stalk as much as the end results.
