Bushbuck Country owns a 55 hectares game ranch on Leopard Hills, 12 min from the American School, 20 min from Cross road. While small, this owner-inhabited ranch hosts several species of antelope and is framed by a pristine miombo forest, streams and hills. 10 km of walking trails have been carved out.
Why Bushbuck? : The Bushbuck (tragelaphus scriptus) is recognizable from its doted and striped tawny robe, spiraled horned and slight humpback. It ranges all sub-Saharan Africa from the Cape peninsula through the Congo basin far into the Sahel to Senegal. Intransigently territorial, elusive, never abundant, it is most adaptable to land transformation and resilient to poaching. The Bushbuck, which embodies grace, strength & adaptability, symbolizes well the resilience of African ecosystems to human pressure.
Short term rental is available.
Bushbuck offers only bow hunts.
These are exclusive self-bow-hunts for animal that we know we have on the property. This year we offer male and female impala as well as some trophy animals: An impala, a hartebeest, a puku, a bushbuck and two duikers (see some pictures). These would be reasonably to very difficult hunts only for experienced bow hunters, particularly duikers.
A wounded animal is considered purchased. In compliance with Zambia regulations, international hunters will need to be accompanied by a professional hunter. This is not necessary for Zambia residents. A game scout, who is neither a PH nor a tracker, may accompany the hunter and/or show the ground ahead of the hunt. Only one hunter is allowed at a time on the property an only reasonably accurate archers will be allowed to chance the hunt.
